Providence Resources PLC appoints veteran KPMG partner as senior independent

(), the Irish based resource development company, has appointed former KPMG partner James Menton as its senior independent non-executive director with immediate effect.

Menton has advised many large Irish and multinational companies over his time in professional advisory services since 1986, including providing advice to many of Ireland’s listed oil and gas companies.

Providence highlighted that as chair of the board of major Irish healthcare provider, St. Vincent’s Healthcare, for the past six years, he has led significant stakeholder engagement with Irish government agencies, leading finance providers and the investment community.

Pat Plunkett, chairman of Providence, said: “We are strengthening our board at a crucial time for our business.

“Developing the Barryroe Discovery will require a multi-disciplinary team with experience in delivering major projects and investment. James has that experience in addition to considerable understanding of Ireland’s offshore exploration sector.
