Union Jack Oil Plc looks forward to testing as West Newton B-1Z well advances


Results from the well to date are described as “highly encouraging” and the next phase of work begins in May.

() told investors the West Newton  B-1Z appraisal well has successfully completed cased hole logging and vertical seismic profiling operations.

The next phase of work will see a service rig used to perforate and stimulate the Kirkham Abbey formation ahead of flow testing.

This work expected to get underway in May with operations slated to take around 4 weeks. Following the completion of the WNB-1Z well, the company intends to restart testing at the WNA-2 well.

“Initial results from the recently completed Cased Hole Logging Programme and Vertical Seismic Profiling, coupled with historical well log results and measurements taken whilst drilling, have all been highly encouraging to date and the Joint Venture participants hold high expectations for a successful flow test,” said David Bramhill, executive chairman.

“We await with great interest the testing results over the coming months from both WNB-1Z and WNA-2 and look forward to updating shareholders as further progress is made.”
