Helium One’s new Principal Geologist Lorna Blaisse outlines plans for seismic


Helium One Global () recently appointed Lorna Blaisse as Principal Geologist and she joins Proactive London’s Katie Pilbeam to explain how her expertise can help the company in its ambitions. Blaisse is a skilled petroleum geologist with 15 years’ experience in exploration and appraisal across Africa.

She has direct experience of rift basin geology, conducting work in the Lake Albert Rift Basin in Uganda, as well as operational experience managing successful exploration campaigns in North and East Africa. The firm has now started the acquisition of seismic data at the Rukwa project in Tanzania.

The company has mobilised a data acquisition team, vibroseis trucks and geophones to undertake 150 kilometres of infill 2D seismic targeting multiple trapping styles.
