(), the developer of a secure, blockchain-driven COVID passport system, has been asked to participate in a government initiative to make it quicker and easier for people to verify themselves using modern technology.

The consultation is being carried out by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) as it develops its Digital Identity Policy.

Chief executive, Guy Meyer, said: “As a participant, we look forward to joining the discussions and highlighting the commercial benefits of the Digital Identity Policy, as well as advising how organisations should handle and protect people’s data.

“Given that Catenae is ISO 27001 accredited and has blockchain at the core of its platform, the company is well placed to leverage opportunities in this space.”

In the same announcement, Catenae said it is in discussions with Public Health Scotland “to explore options around” automated transfer of COVID test results to a tracking database using its operating system.

The firm has been involved in testing programmes where it has securely uploaded data to Public Health England’s Point-of-Care Test Result Submission system.
