Mineral & Financial Investments Limited () said it has appointed Mark Brown as an independent member of its board of directors who will also assume the role of chairman.
The AIM-listed firm said Brown currently serves as the president of Pacific Opportunity Capital Ltd, a merchant banking and financial consulting firm active in the North American venture capital markets, and has “assisted in the successful establishment of several private and public companies”.

M&FI also said Jacques Vaillancourt will assume the role of president, chief executive and as a director.
“Mr Brown’s financial and mining experience, as well as his active roles as a senior director of numerous public companies, make him a great fit for the M&FI Board and we look forward to working with him. Moreover, his addition as an independent director will further strengthen the Board’s independence in governance”, Vaillancourt said in a statement.
Shares in the company were steady at 9.3p in mid-morning trading on Wednesday.
