The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.
- Feb. 6: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on East Main Street in Smithtown at 4:30 p.m. Someone broke into a gym locker and stole a wallet with credit cards, police said. The thief then used a credit card to purchase gift cards at CVS, police said.
- Feb. 4: Identity theft (second-degree) was reported on Meadow Court in Nesconset from July 4, 2019, at 2:05 p.m. Someone used someone else’s name and number to open an AT&T Direct TV account, police said.
- Feb. 3: Identity theft (first-degree) was reported on Lancaster Avenue in Nesconset from Aug. 25, 2020, at noon. Someone took out a loan in a woman’s name and then opened a Chase bank account using her name and Social Security Number and deposited money, police said.
- Jan. 31: Grand larceny (fourth-degree) was reported on Fifty Acre Road South in St. James from Jan. 28 at 12:01 a.m. Someone entered an unlocked 2017 Chrysler and stole credit cards and a driver’s license, police said.
