Symphony Environmental Technologies PLC’s d2p technology to be used to protect

() said a donation has been made to the city of Guarulhos in Brazil that will provide the company’s d2p anti-microbial film to cover seats and handles on the city’s public bus system, comprised of 858 vehicles.

The AIM-listed firm said the d2p film will protect the city’s 400,000+ bus passengers from Coronavirus and other bacteria and fungi normally present on surfaces. Following the announcement, Guarulhos becomes the first public transport system in the world to incorporate d2p anti-microbial technology to protect the health of its users.

The donation was made by Extrusa Pack, a Brazilian plastic maker that uses Symphony’s d2w biodegradable and d2p anti-microbial plastic technologies.

“We would like to commend Extrusa Pack for this thoughtful contribution to public health in the city of Guarulhos. We hope other cities in Brazil, Latin America and the rest of the world, will follow the lead of Guarulhos and provide this kind of anti-microbial protection in their public transport systems, protecting passengers from Coronavirus and other dangerous microbes. We at Symphony, will continue to promote the use of our anti-microbial technology to protect human health and the environment in these challenging times,” Symphony chief executive Michael Laurier said in a statement.
