Mosman Oil & Gas Limited set for Greater Stanley workover this week

Mosman Oil & Gas Limited () has told investors that it expects to conduct its first workover at the Greater Stanley project this week, before separately progressing well testing at the Champion project’s Falcon well next week.

After that, the company said it will begin drilling the Galaxie-1 well at the Champion project.

It comes as Mosman and its partners manage its operations sequentially amidst the constraints of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“There is considerable on-ground activity on our Texas leases, in addition to production planning and infrastructure upgrades,” said John Barr, Mosman chairman in a statement.

“Careful planning and decision making is required. Having a small and dedicated team occasionally means sequencing operations. Previously this was covered by Andy Carroll [Mosman technical director] who would fly to the location, however, clearly this is not an option in the present COVID situation.”

In the Greater Stanley project, the company owns a 20% interest in the workover well which is located in the Duff lease. Work is expected to start this week.

Next week, at the Champion project preparation for the Falcon-1 well testing will complete. The required equipment has been acquired and testing is due to start next week.

The company noted that at the Stanley project one well workover was recently undertaken, with a zone completed and flowed oil. It was then shut-in pending installation of artificial lift equipment.

Contour Exploration, a company owned and managed by Howard McLaughlin, is managing the workover at Greater Stanley and the testing at Falcon-1, sequentially, so that he can be on-site during each programme.
