BLUFFTON, Ind. (WPTA21) – Incumbent U.S. Rep. Jim Banks and his challenger, Chip Coldiron, met on Wednesday in their only debate of the 2020 election season.

They answered a wide range of questions from moderator Brien McElhatten, with subjects ranging from COVID-19 response to the economy to civil rights.

The event was staged at the Wells County Arts, Commerce & Visitors Centre and broadcast live on ABC21.

Banks is a Republican from Columbia City. He is seeking a third term in Congress.

Coldiron, the Democratic nominee, is a teacher at Norwell High School in Ossian.

Both men have spent time in military service and, outside of their deployments or time in Washington, nearly all of their lives in Indiana.
